ABOUT IPRAVENT ROTACAPS?
IPRAVENT ROTACAPS is an effective medicine with the ability to expand the airways and is therefore used in conditions with reversible (retractable) constriction respiratory tract.
This medicine is active in the form of a dry powder which is indicated for inhalation.
IPRAVENT ROTACAPS can be inhaled only by a plastic device called Rotahaler.
This way of drug application contributes the higher drug usability and efficacy.
FOR WHAT INDICATIONS PREVENT ROTACAPS ARE USED?
IPRAVENT ROPACAPS is indicated for the treatment of:
- bronchospasm
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,
- chronic bronchitis,
- emphysema (pulmonary emphysema)
- asthma.
IPRAVENT INHALER can be used by adults, adolescents, and children older than 12 years.
WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW BEFORE THE PREVENT ROTACAPS APPLICATION?
IPRAVENT ROPACAPS can be taken, only if your doctor is informed that:
- you have narrow-angle glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure)
- you have difficulty in passing the urinary tract
- you suffer from cystic fibrosis
- you have eye problems such as eye pain, blurred vision, visual halo
(light circle around the light source) or rainbow vision associated with eye redness, contact an immediate eye doctor, as these symptoms may be associated with other complications (widespread)
pupils elevated intraocular pressure.
WHAT SYMPTOMS MAY OCCUR AFTER THE ADMINISTRATION OF PREVENT ROTACAPS?
After the administration, an acute hypersensitivity reaction may occur, like:
- urticaria,
- angioedema (rapid swelling of the tongue,
- narrowing respiratory tract,
- swelling of the mouth and throat
- rapidly developing life-threatening allergic reactions.
HOW AM I PREVENTING ROTACAPS USED IN PREGNANCY, BREASTFEEDING, AND FERTILITY?
IPRAVENT ROTACAPS can be used in therapy during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility, with the approval of your doctor.
COULD PREVENT ROTACAPS EFFECT ON ABILITY TO DRIVE OR OPERATE WITH THE MACHINES?
Caution is advised when you are on therapy with IPRAVENT ROTACAPS and driving a car or operating machines.
If you get any of these side effects like dizziness, disturbances, enlarged pupils, a blurred vision you should avoid potentially dangerous activities such as driving or operating machines.
WHAT ARE RECOMMENDED DOSES OF PREVENT INHALERS?
Based on the age and health status of the patient, the recommended dose for the:
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
- One or two Rotacaps, maximum fort times a day.
IPRAVENT ROPACAPS is not indicated for the pediatric population under the age of 12 years.
HOW ARE IPRAVENT ROPACAPS USED?
The correct use of the Rotahaler is significant for successful treatment.
Do not take Rotacaps orally.
IPRAVENT ROTACAPS can be taken only by using the Rotahaler.
Rotahaler is a plastic, medical device with a mouthpiece specially designed for dry powder inhalation.
Before starting the therapy, you should place a Rotacapsule with the medicine, in the form of powder, in the Rotahaler. When the dust from a capsule is released, you can start inhaling.
The drug should be inhaled through a mouthpiece, deeply into the lungs.
First, exhale profoundly and then inhale for a few seconds, hold your breath for 10 seconds, and remove the mouthpiece from your mouth.
It is essential to keep your face and oral cavity clean after each inhalation to prevent fungal infections.
WHAT SIDE CAN EFFECTS BE NOTICED DURING THERAPY?
If you notice any of these symptoms, inform your doctor immediately.
- anaphylactic reactions
- hypersensitivity
- heart rhythm disorders
- bronchospasm (narrowing of the bronchi/airways)
- swelling of the pharynx (swelling of the upper throat)
- Blurred vision
- enlarged pupils (mydriasis)
- increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma
- eye pain
- redness of the eyes (congestion of the conjunctivae)
- swelling of the cornea
- dry mouth
- diarrhea
- constipation
- vomiting
- inflammation of the mucous membranes in the mouth

IF YOU HAVE TAKEN MULTIPLE DOSES OF MEDICINE?
If you use more IPRAVENT ROPACAPS then you should ask your doctor for advice or pharmacist.
Expected symptoms of overdose are mild and may include drought in the mouth, disturbances in the focus of the eyes (accommodation), and heart rate acceleration.
IF YOU MISSED THE PRESCRIBED DOSE?
If you forget to use IPRAVENT INHALER, take it as soon as you remember, but do not double your next dose to replace omitted dose. Take another dose as usual.
IF YOU STOP TAKING PREVENT INHALER?
If you stop using IPRAVENT INHALER, your breathing problems can return or even aggravate.
Do not stop using this medicine without the permission of a doctor.
